What is C2PA?
C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) is an open standard for embedding tamper-evident provenance data into digital content. Adopted by Adobe, OpenAI, Google, Midjourney, and major camera manufacturers including Sony, Nikon, and Canon.
What does this tool detect?
- C2PA Content Credentials: Full provenance chain — creator, tool, edit history, timestamps, and digital signatures.
- EXIF/XMP/IPTC AI Markers: DigitalSourceType, Software tags, AI generation flags from IPTC metadata standards.
- Combined View: See all signals in one place — what's present, what's absent, and what survives metadata stripping.
EU AI Act Compliance
Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires AI-generated content to carry machine-readable markers. Enforcement begins August 2, 2026. Use this tool to check whether your content carries the required provenance signals.
